As we guessed, seems like Apple is concentrating on system performance improvements for Snow Leopard and this image shows that Snow Leopard might be a mix of 32 and 64-bit…
This leaked image of a German Snow Leopard system shows System Preferences saying it needs to restart in 32-bit mode to open the Network panel. Seems like Apple IS dropping support for non-Intel machines, or just that whoever took the picture doesn’t have a 64-bit version of the Network panel installed.
