By Leo at 17 December, 2008, 8:33 am
Apple has announced that Macworld 2009 will be the last in which Apple participates. The final opening keynote will be delivered by Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing(Sorry for my misleading post a few days ago). However, Macworlds without Apple will continue to take place.
Several large manufacturers have withdrawn from the expo, including Adobe and Belkin, probably because the economy downturn.
It is unknown whether Steve is absent because of his health or something else.
As noted in its press release, Apple is slowly beginning to abandon trade shows in favor of special events some times a year. We have yet to see what happens to WWDC in June.
We’ll keep you updated in this matter.
