Apple History #2: The First iPod

In 1997, Apple began a total makeover that transformed its old boring-looking product line from the 90s to the fashionable products that make Apple what it is today. After the introduction of the first iMacs and iBooks, the logical step to take was to begin conqering new markets.
Digital(MP3) music players had begun appearing in the mid-90s, however it remained a niche market until Apple’s interference , as there simply weren’t any good players around at that time.
Apple saw the potential market, and in October 2001, the iPod, which would later prove to be the world’s first really popular MP3 player, which it still is today, was announced.
